Ideal for larger or more complex buildings with advanced HVAC systems. Used where more detailed modelling is required for accurate compliance

Required for public buildings over 250m² occupied by a public authority that are frequently accessed for use by the public i.e. Leisure Centre, Schools/College, Library, Doctors/Dentists/Medical Centres etc.
DECs last for 1 year for buildings with a total useful floor area more than 1,000 square metres. They last for 10 years when the total useful floor area is over 250 square metres and up to 1,000 square metres
